Rotary Meditations
A new Rolodex series in collaboration with Contemporary Collage Magazine.
Quick slideshow to mark the completion of Rotary Meditations, a series of twenty-four analog collage diptychs constructed on Rolodex cards from a single source: Contemporary Collage Magazine’s Collage_This Analogue Challenge booklet, recently mailed to one hundred artists around the world. I am curious to see how others approached the same material.
Stills in situ to come.
Your Friend in Collage,
Note: My intent was to make one or two pieces, but in a stretch with almost no work/life balance, this became the only real studio time I had. I kept going until I had reduced the booklet to tiny scraps. What is left now fits inside a snack-size Ziploc.
“The pictures were painted directly through me, without preliminary drawings and with great power. I had no idea what the pictures would depict and still I worked quickly and surely without changing a single brushstroke.” — Hilma af Klint

Rolodex look for the win!
Amazing. I was also so enthusiastic about the Collage this challenge I wanted to use every bit of it. The 3 collages I came up with unexpectedly exhausted me like deep therapy. But I kept all the leftovers to use them ultimately.
Love what you came up with!
